Northwest Minimally Invasive Surgery Is Here for You

We’ve put together a team of talented surgeons — experts in the science and art of minimally invasive surgical procedures. We know that the prospect of surgery, no matter how minor or minimally invasive, can be a cause of stress, worry, and anxiety.

That’s why we’ve reimagined the clinical setting. We want each of our patients to feel welcome, safe, and attended to.

The surgeons at NWMIS work across a wide range of disciplines and specialties. Our care is both comprehensive and personalized. You can trust us to place our focus on you and on making each surgical procedure we perform as pleasant an experience as it can possibly be.

A Little About Us

We opened Northwest Minimally Invasive Surgery in 2017 because we identified a need in our community. We realized there were few if any places for patients to turn in order to receive expert, cutting-edge surgical care in a setting that also prioritizes patient comfort.

Meet the team at NW MIS.

Procedures: An Overview

Northwest Minimally Invasive Surgery provides its patients with an extensive list of minimally invasive surgical options including endoscopic, laparoscopic and robotic to treat both benign disease and cancer.

Our surgeons are skilled in many minimally invasive general surgical procedures, including abdominal wall reconstruction and peritoneal dialysis access. We are hernia specialists, with procedures designed to repair everything from inguinal/groin hernias to complex ventral and hiatal hernias. We offer comprehensive options in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Our practice includes a tremendous range of specialties, such as colorectal procedures, endoscopies, splenectomies, adrenalectomies, and more.

What Does ‘Minimally Invasive Surgery’ Mean

Minimally invasive surgery means patients receive expert treatment and care without the need for large incisions. Surgery of any kind is by definition invasive, but minimally invasive surgery harnesses advances in surgical technologies and tools to our ever-expanding knowledge of the body and its functions in order to minimize cutting.

That means fewer and smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, healing and recovery times, and a decreased likelihood of debilitating post-surgical pain and risk of infection.

Laparoscopic and Robotic procedures are generally considered to be the first of this new kind of surgery, utilizing tiny tools and cameras to maneuver surgical instruments into the site.

These techniques — along with others used in our practice at NWMIS — mean we can operate with an astonishing level of safety, flexibility, precision, and patient customization.

Our medical practice continues to grow. Our fellowship-trained surgeons each have specialties that allow them to use these powerful laparoscopic and robotic tools to relieve ailments as diverse and complex as gastrointestinal and colorectal cancers, solid organ diseases, hernias, and more.
